I absolutely, positively freaking LOVE this place! I'm from Houston, but I visit Colorado several times a year for "business" (I'm a racing driver and owner of a shop/racing team that races the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb). I first visited the area in early 2012, and one of the first places I discovered (thanks to Yelp!, actually) was the Pantry Restaurant - our primary quest that day was to find somewhere close that served mimosas. Not only does Pantry have awesome mimosas, the rest of their menu is absolutely WONDERFUL! If I have ANY complaints, it's that there are too many awesome things on the menu and my stomach doesn't have room for all of them! Their cinnamon raisin toast is unquestionably phenomenal, and should be had with anything you order. I'm also a fan of their country potatoes; the chicken fried steak or the french toast cinnamon roll are amazing as well! The staff is great as well, over the several times I've visited over the last few years I don't think I've had a single complaint or grievance. I will admit that the service here isn't the quickest or fastest, but this isn't exactly that sort of establishment - the wait time is appropriate for dishes that they aren't just thawing out, throwing in a bag, and handing to you through the drive-up window...and even if you do perceive the wait time as a bit longer than you'd like, the food will ALWAYS be worth it! It's a shame that nowadays some folks expect the absolute best meal cooked-to-order just how you want it to be ready within seconds of you ordering it. Worst case, if your meal does take a bit longer to make it out than you expected, just get another cup of coffee or order another mimosa and enjoy the absolutely incredible scenery and environment for a few more minutes! Pantry Restaurant is absolutely the bee's knees!

I recently had breakfast at the pantry and it was extremely good food! I had the Green Chile Eggs and tortillas with home potatoes! Wow!.. The girl at the counter was a local and had lots of hiking knowledge of the area!!! Highly recommend this gem!

This was a very quaint restaurant. It is a renovated house. Good food and very friendly staff. They were very attentive. It was nice to walk around the little lake. I had the French toast with the cinnamon roll and it came with bacon, eggs and I chose the hash browns. This is a lot of food.

Wow. It's not often I'm lead astray by fellow Yelpers but this place didn't live up to its rating. We wanted to sit outside, which proved to be a challenge. When we were finally seated, the waitress didn't come by for at least 10 min. She finally made an appearance and took our order. She didn't return for a full 30 minutes, to bring us our food. Never came by to offer a refill or anything. A family seated at the table next to us ended up leaving because after the waitress took our order she never came back outside. There was one stand out here and that was the teenage bus boy. He was working harder than anyone else in the place! We gave him the tip. This kid deserves a raise, and for Petes sake get him a bussing tray. Tables will be cleared much faster and in one trip instead of the kid making multiple trips hands loaded with everything he can carry. We thought since the service was so awful the food must be phenomenal to have such a high Yelp rating. Nope. Completely mediocre average food. Nothing special or outstanding. I had the "crab" and avocado salad. Nice mix of greens but there was just a small bit of "crab" and about 1/4 of an avocado. Since they were using imitation crab I was expecting 2-3 ounces of crab, it was 1 ounce at most. Hubby had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. The fried chicken was "fine" but he wondered if they were using baby chickens because the pieces were so small. The mashed potatoes were good, chunky and buttery. Green beans were canned with some onion, salt and pepper added in. Overall a big disappointment. Wondering if you need to be a regular to get decent service? And who left all the 5 star Yelp reviews, staff?

This is one of my most favorite places. As a child, I would come here with my grandparents every summer. We stayed at the Falls motel and ate breakfast there almost every morning. As I grew up, I still came with my grandparents, boyfriend, husband, now my family. We return every year on our way to the Fireworks softball tournament in Denver. There is not a bad thing on the menu. This morning my daughter had the fluffy pancakes - these are always so good. If you're really hungry get the "mother lode" - it's a huge pancake as big as a platter. My husband had a breakfast burrito - the chile is to die for. But one of my favorites is the cinnamon roll French toast. Heaven! Usually I get something so I can have some of their homemade bread but I couldn't pass up one of their soft delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. Coffee.... Is sooooooo good too! You can sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day with breathtaking views or inside. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and inviting. There was no wait to be seated nor to receive our food. The food and atmosphere are spectacular. It's a must if you are in the Colorado Springs area.

This is a favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The prices are more than reasonable and the food is so fresh! They make their own bread. I had the Patty Melt...perfect! We also had French toast and French dip...what better than to sit by the lake, enjoy all the different languages being spoken right in your own back yard.

It has been a while since we have been up here and we are happy we went back. Their food is really good country style cooking but great combo's. Their french toast hybrid cinnamon rolls are to die for. The only issue with this place is how small it is but in all honestly if it was any bigger than you would be fighting a bigger crowd to get into it. Today I tried something different ordered the Country Fried Steak with sunny side up eggs. It was a great combo that made it worth going out in the crappy weather today to eat it. One thing if you are in a rush then don't come here, but if you want some good comfort food and have a little time it is worth stopping here. Oh and the quickest way into Green Mountain Falls is to take the last left hand turn before Woodland park. Not at The Wines of Colorado or the next Green Mountain Falls sign, you want the third sign. Enjoy.

I would give the restaurant 4.5 stars for the food. I loved every bite of my cinnamon roll french toast with scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns- everything was cooked perfectly and it was really delicious. My husband enjoyed his huevos rancheros. Our friend ordered an omelette and said it was super greasy and had very little bacon; she was disappointed and usually she is a huge fan of this restaurant and was really excited to share it with us. I would give the restaurant 2 stars (maybe less) for the service for the day we were there. From the time we put our name in to the time we were seated it was a two hour wait until we ordered on a Sunday morning (though it was supposed to be a half hour wait and there weren't that many people waiting!). We had to keep checking if a table was ready and at one point they took us in to seat us and then said they couldn't seat us and we had to go back out and wait even longer. The children we were with were so hungry and getting impatient. The people working seemed very stressed out and kind of angry at each other which felt a little uncomfortable. Fortunately they have coloring books and crayons for children while you wait at your table, and a beautiful park to play in next door while you wait for your turn for a table. We'll give this place another try because it has a great reputation and I loved my meal, but hopefully the service will be much better in the future.

The breakfast food and location were excellent but the kitchen was very slow (we are talking close to 40 min wait to get our breakfast) and the restaurant itself was dirty. They turned a fan on and dust balls started flying everywhere, including a customer s food. The cobwebs were everywhere and the floor was pretty messy. Still, the location was excellent and if you can get a table outside you would probably appreciate more the experience. Also, outside courtyard seemed to be dog-friendly which is always a plus.

My journey is complete. Cinnamon Roll French Toast is the greatest breakfast food ever invented. Sitting in the sunshine on a gorgeous Colorado morning. Way more food than I could eat. The hash browns were perfect, as were the country potatoes and the Bacon. Came with two eggs also for under 9 bucks. Everything was wonderful except the coffee. It was good coffee, just not great. Service was good and very friendly. My wife was a bit chilly and a blanket arrived quickly for her lap. Her food was wonderful also, she had eggs Benedict - Annie (with turkey and spinach added) we will be back many times.

This was the second time I have been here. Both for breakfast. Ambiance: Very mom-n-pop. It is a quaint homy place with very down to earth wait staff. The setting is absolutely wonderful, especially if your goal is to escape from the city for the morning. The Pantry is set right beside a beautiful lake and is surrounded by mountains. Price: Reasonable considering the food a blend of Sysco food and homemade food. Service: Not outstanding. Most of the staff seem to be college age and don't seem to be cognizant of the fact that they are there to serve patrons. There were a few instances where we waited for 10 minutes for more coffee as our waitress was standing 5 feet away talking to another waiter. Finally, both times we had to ask for her to bring coffee The Staff overall are nice though. They seem to be down to earth and just need to realize that this is a job and not a social gathering. Food: I will start off with the bad. The coffee they make is Farmers Brothers which is essentially a step above Sysco brand. In a place where it is incredibly easy to find great coffee that is locally roasted (Colorado Springs has 10 coffee roasters alone) they could and should do a lot better with this. The coffee tasted like Folger's and was burnt. If you go to any great breakfast restaurant in central Colorado you will find that the coffee is a huge portion of their success. It would be easy to make that the case with The Pantry. Now for the good. I had the chicken fried steak and my friend had the biscuits and gravy. As I am sure you have heard from the other reviews, the cinnamon raisin toast is to die for. It is thick and moist and is covered in honey butter. My meal came with country potatoes which were outstanding as was my steak. It was flavorful and moist. My friend who had the buscuits and gravy said they were good but they could make the gravy more flavorful. Over all, a great mountain breakfast experience. Beautiful town and pretty good food give this place, in my opinion, four stars.

This was a disappointing experience to say the least. I visited with my friend and our children last Saturday. We were over 40 minutes waiting for our food with no apology made and when my son's grilled cheese sandwich arrived it was half a sandwich, not an actual sandwich as advertised. This would be a great option if my kid was 2 years old but he's 6 so absolutely would eat a whole one. I asked the very friendly waitress what the deal was with this and she said that's the kids portion. That wouldn't be a problem to me if it had been written in the menu that way. Next up charges out the assistant manager, who by the way I didn't ask to speak with. She was so aggressive in her manner it was quite shocking to us. Asked me what the problem was and so I explained the food was indeed very tasty but proceeded to explain my disappointment with the portion sizes of the sandwich. My friends son got 2 chicken nuggets and about 7 fries as his meal! If only their prices suggested this was fair. This assistant manager made no apology, no offering of a solution other than to bring me a whole portion from the adult menu and charge me for same. I've been living in the US for over 3 years now and have never been treated so poorly. Obviously I did not fancy waiting another 40 mins for a large grilled cheese so we decided to leave. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere, especially when this particular assistant manager is on duty!

As Olympic gold medalist Greg Rutherford could probably cover the entirety of Green Mountain Falls in a single bound, the Pantry Restaurant may indeed be the best joint in town. Certainly, the food was pretty solid. I had a patty melt, which was for the most part A-OK (with a special shoutout to the housemade bread). I can't remember much about the accompanying fries, which probably says a lot. What I failed to witness was the stellar service everyone talks about on here. It wasn't terrible, to be sure...and it definitely wasn't slow. In fact, it was almost the opposite...the pace of our meal was borderline rushed, even though the place was only about half full. When I inquired a second time about a straw for my glass of water, the waitress actually slammed a straw directly into my glass of water, generating (I'm not kidding) a small splash. Fortunately, I recognize that food is criteria #1, so I have no qualms dishing out three stars here.

The food was great I've eaten here before, and wanted to go back. We went on a Saturday morning the place was busy but not overly crowded so we were fortunate to get seated right away. 1 1/2 hrs later when our food finally came out it was great there's no excuses for food taking that long and I'm not exaggerating on the time It was tolerable because of the beautiful setting in the mountains we did enjoy the food and the staff was friendly ,

Great service, hidden from main hwy. Took recommendation and ordered the cinnamon french toast and purchased a loaf of the raisin bread to enjoy at home in California. I'll be back. Givin this 4 out of 5 forks!
(4)Glyn D.
We're trying to become regulars here as we have enjoyed every visit we have had. I regularly enjoy one of the available benedicts and have also enjoyed their take on biscuits and sausage gravy with potatoes.

Drove up from the Springs because of the rave reviews. Food was decent, French toast cinnamon roll was raved about in other reviews but didn't taste much different than Wal Mart cinnamon roll dipped in an egg and fried and the Hashbrowns were overcooked. Finally fond this al out after 30 minutes of waiting for our food. My fiancé said the food was decent but the whole experience sucked. We won't be returning.

The food was the very finest hole in the wall diner fare I have ever tasted!! Delicious chicken salad with first rate ingredients, amazing cinnamon roll and the mother lode pancake challenge was quite fun, too! As a full-blown coffee snob, I enjoyed their coffee, as well, and the service was impeccable! The town is only a short ways off the beaten path. If you are in the area, don't miss the chance to stop in for breakfast or lunch... But bring your appetite if you want to earn that free mother lode pancake!

Checked out the reviews and after an early morning hike in Garden of the Gods decided to check it out. The atmosphere was delightful when walking in. Seated right away, then welcomed with a hot cup of coffee. Was thinking at that point, so far so good. Then heard someone in the back start talking about their previous night drama, I'm gonna assume was over the phone. Talking turned into crying, and what at first just seemed like a minor distraction quickly became quite irritating. Come to find out, when our server comes out to take our order, it's our server who's drama we were hearing. We could tell she was upset and had been crying, and as much as we felt bad for whatever she was dealing with. We decided to go elsewhere. It's all good, We understand life happens. We hope everything turns out well for her. Will try again another time.

All I can say is......... did they lose their chef????? How anyone could give this place better than 3 stars, if that, I have no idea. First off the service was SLOWER than SLOW. SLOWER than that poor turtle trying to cross the freeway SLOW! Getting an iced tea was almost impossible, and when I reminded the waitress, she brought mine and forgot my husband's!!! Then there was the wait, the wait, the wait....... and finally the food. OMG...... I cannot remember the last time I had such a bad meal. Since when is "Chicken Fried Chicken" a plate of 3 pieces of fried "to death" chicken with mashed potatoes or french fries on the side??? Starving, I attempted to eat was brought to me and the chicken was majorly over-fried & highly salted. The batter was so "crispy" I thought I was going to break a tooth. My hubby had the pot roast and at least his was edible. This place is in an area where you would camp with the family for the summer, with cabins, tennis courts, swimming pool, etc. (one of those old 50's summer holidays that could use a make-over) and this is the "hole-in-the-wall" diner for that group, as well as a lot of locals in there. It must be the locals who are giving this place 5 stars. I just don't get it! This one really blew me away. What a waste of my time and a beautiful day, plus I left hungry :( The only thing that kept me from losing it was being entertained by the huge number of people trying to get in & out of the one toilet bathroom. People would push & pull on the door handle so hard, jerking it back and forth, trying to get in, thinking it undoubtedly was not a "single" or the door was "just hard to open..." that I could just imagine the poor person in that teeny, tiny bathroom with their with their knees hitting the door, being scared to death that at any moment the door would fly open!!!!!! I chose to pass this option....

We must have come on a bad day. My wife and I tried this place for breakfast. The plastic glasses that our drinks came in were all chipped and cracked at the top, and we had to ask for straws, we sure weren't going to put those against our mouths. We had to wait a long time for our food, when it came it was actually cool, not even warm anymore. I'm guessing our waitress forgot about it and the food was sitting for a while before it was brought to us. We won't be coming back, there are much better options within a short drive.

Shockingly rude. Myself and 2 others phoned ahead to go here for lunch at 2.20pm. We were 3 miles away and I asked if we could come for lunch. The lady said last orders are at 2.30pm. I asked if we get there and order before 2:30 that that would be fine. She confirmed and said as long as we get there by 2:30. We arrived at 2:25 and found them trying to sneak out before we got there!!! I heard one lady actually say to another. Oh no, they are here. We were then treated incredibly rudely when I said I had phoned ahead. She said forcibly that she made it clear that we had to be there by 2:30pm. I explained it was not 2:30 yet and she argued it was. I showed her my iPhone showing 2.27pm but more rude response. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

First of all when you find Green Mtn Falls you will think you have stepped back in time. We have traveled all over this state for many years and this is possibly the cutest, most quaint place on the state. As for The Pantry, don't miss it. We had breakfast. Totally yummy, delicious coffee (that's a must) and then there was the cinnamon roll.........(swooning). Great service, small and cozy.
(5)Daniel S.
As a local to the area this is by far our favorite dining spot. for Breakfast I always get some form of Eggs Benedict and have never been disappointed. We have also tried the pancakes and their omelets which I would probably order all the time if I didn't like the Benedict so much. Coffee is pretty good as well, served in a mix match of Goodwill coffee cups, but it works. The decor is all over the place, I guess you would call it Rural Retro. Crowded seating inside (come on a weekday if you can because you'll have to wait on the weekend to be seated) outdoor seating in warm weather. The wait staff is friendly and good at their job. Do not leave without going for one of their cinnamon buns. We always take a few home with us. That was breakfast......they also serve a really good lunch but their creek side evening dining in the summer is a must do. Get the roast beef, or the steak...heck even the chickens good. They usually have some entertainment as well and they have a really neat setting. We make sure and bring visiting friends and family. This place gets my highest recommendation for the Woodland Park, Ute Pass area.

We drove up from the Springs because a friend told me The Pantry was a Colorado institution. The food was very, very good - best green chile sauce I have had since moving from Arizona. But our server, Rachel, was what made the experience so much run. She remembered our family name and used it when interacting with us and was completely authentic, attentive and appreciative of our patience on a very busy day. We will definitely go back.

Cinnamon Raisin Toast!!! I have been away from Colorado Springs for over six years and when I was headed back, one of the things on my definitely to do list was go to The Pantry in Green Mountain Falls. The ham was good. The eggs were good as were the hash brown potatoes. But the Cinnamon Raisin Toast here is as high on my list of all time favorites as Green Mountain Falls is above sea level (it is over 7,000 feet). The bread is homemade and amazing light for raisin bread. Then they toast it and layer on a coating of cinnamon sugar that is heavy enough to catch your taste buds attention but not so heavy as to drown them in sugar. Every bite of the Cinnamon Raisin Toast is pure delight. Yes, I know how that sounds but experience their CRT just once and it will remain in your memory, too. Oh yes, be prepared to not be able to check in on Yelp. I tried but couldn't. It just may be that the location is too remote for my ATT iPhone to access the internet.
(5)Jen K.
We aren't able to get to Green Mountain Falls as often as we'd liked, but when we do, we always visit The Pantry. We are usually there for breakfast, which is wonderful, but today we visited for lunch. I enjoyed the French Dip, while others in our party raved about the Southwest Chicken Sandwich and the Green Chile Burger. We love sitting outside where we can see the famous gazebo and enjoy the mountain air. The service here is amazing; we felt like family. What a gem!
(5)Nicola V.
Used to come here for breakfast on many a late weekend morning. Now I've moved away, this is one of the places in the area I miss the most. The homemade breads and biscuits are incredible. The raisin bread that they use for toast is so good I've bought whole loaves to take home. And when they take that homemade bread and bake it into a pudding...best sweet breakfast ever. The country fried steaks are huge servings (as is pretty much everything) and although I could never eat one, I would regularly steal bites off someone else's plate, so good. I miss this place and my leisurely weekend brunches terribly, go if you're lucky enough to live close by!
(5)Heather P.
I ordered the breakfast burrito, my husband ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast and my son the cinnamon roll french toast breakfast. The green chili that came with the burrito was good but the tortilla on the burrito was so stale that it was completely broken and crunchy (see photo) but I enjoyed the hashbrowns. The chicken fried steak was crunchy and had a good flavor to it. My son said he didn't care for his french toast breakfast at all. We did notice a cute little spider crawling down the wall but that didn't phase me since the place was rustic and it seemed to fit in. My husband and son are pretty big eaters and were still hungry after we finished breakfast. The service was fast and friendly. I'd give it another try just to visit the area again and hope that lunch is better than breakfast.
(2)Earl C.
Great Cinnamon Roll French Toast, epic bacon, awesome country potatoes, great coffee... my only complaint is that the outer seating is a few feet away from cars in the parking lot, so you get great views of Subaru's instead of the lake, and then you get the occasional fumes of a steaming oily engine.
(4)Kathryn P.
The Pantry is definitely a destination in the Pike's Peak region for breakfast. The drive to/from the place is gorgeous and the restaraunt is in a beautiful setting. However, the Pantry has a bit of a dirty feel to me with all of the 'history' scattered throughout. It could use some updating and a good dusting! I find that the breakfasts are, for the most part, quite greasy. I do love the cinnamon toast, however! And if you don't mind (or prefer) good ol' down home (greasy) cooking, you get PLENTY of it! As to dinner, their outdoor dining area is beautiful. It has lots of trees and plenty of seating and there was a very talented singer performing when I was there. The atmosphere was delightful. It did get a little buggy. The food, however, was disappointing. The quantity is impressive, but the quality was lacking. I shared the rib dinner, and the ribs were tough, chewy and cold. (Note: I had them 2 summers ago and they were DELICIOUS.) The baked beans were like bean paste. The potatoes were very good (leftover from breakfast?). The wine was just sort of standard-issue, middle-of-the-road wine (Mondavi). The kitchen & bar are incredibly slow! The waitress, who was clearly a newbie (and very, very nice), was uninformed and brought a glass of white wine when a glass of Shiraz had been ordered (she didn't seem to know that Shiraz should be red). I would think they would want to capitalize on this beautiful outdoor area and have better food (& not served on paper plates), more knowledgeable wait staff and (possibly) grow the size of their bar & kitchen so they can ensure the beverages/food are served in a more timely manner, and that the food is at least hot when it arrives at your table. (Note: even though the ribs were delicious 2 years ago, the service was very slow then too). People would come back again and again if the service and food matched this atmosphere.

Had the chance to finally visit The Pantry after a day of fishing at the pond across the parking lot. Had a bit of a wait, but once seated, we were quickly served and received our food in a reasonable time. The food was great all around. Kids had pancakes which were some of the best we have ever had. They had an eggy quality that kept them from getting soggy and were huge! I had the fried chicken, which was reasonably good. I am from the south, so that is a high bar to overcome. Haven't found anything stands up to southern fried chicken. Wife had the BLT, which was served on homemade wheat bread. She raved about it. Small town businesses like this are struggling all over the place. Good to see that the Pantry is hanging in there, with good service and good food. The only thing that threw us was the homefries (i think that is what they called them). They were large planks of potatoes that were fried. not our thing.
(4)Heather G.
Tasty breakfast and convenient location for local hiking trails. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Service was friendly. Food was reasonably priced.

I visited the Pantry for the first time on Sunday morning-- it was also my first trip to the charming and tiny town of Green Mountain Falls. For starters, the Pantry-- and everyone in it-- was extremely friendly. It's the sort of place where the folks at the table next to you wish you a good morning and remark on your food as it comes out, as in, "That looks good! What are you havin', sweetie, 'cause I think I want one of those." For my meal, I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon and avocado. They were very good, and the homemade hollondaise was incredible. Also, my side of hash browns was awesome. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito, which he made quick work of. After hearing about the cinnamon roll french toast, we decided that we had to check it out while we we there, and got an order to split. I wished I wasn't already so full, because it was really delicious-- and I'm not usually a person who like sweet things at breakfast. While I was there, I saw that from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Pantry does a creekside outdoor brunch. I can't wait to go back and check it out!

Amazing breakfast place. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and all the other breakfast staples I have had were phenomenal. They have cinnamon raisin bread they use to make toast, cinnamon bread, and french toast which also delicious. The pancakes are huge and also really good. They also have a massive pancake that if you eat it, you get it for free. It is a ton of food but still fun to do (this is Laura's husband writing this, she would not even think about eating that much food). My wife got the roast beef one time while we were there for lunch and that was just as good as the breakfast. Portions are really big. Atmosphere is great. Its a little hole in the wall place. The have hundreds of mismatched mugs which they serve the coffee in which is a neat touch. Service is great. If you go on a weekend though be prepared to wait. It has been packed every time I have been there, but the food is definitely worth waiting for.

I'd never heard of The Pantry until just recently and today it was my pleasure to make its acquaintance. This is a place you'd only go to if you knew about it or lived in the quaint little town of Green Mountain Falls. I feel weird about reviewing The Pantry because I'd prefer to keep it a secret. Oh well... The Pantry is tiny but don't let that trick you into thinking the portions are going to be similar. The servings are very generous. Our server was super sweet. She and the kitchen were extremely efficient. Our group of about 10 all received our orders in just over 10 minutes of ordering. When you go you've got to get the cinnamon roll french toast. That's right. French toast made out of a cinnamon roll. No joke. After your huge breakfast wander down to the lake and if it's nice and frozen, grab some friends for a game of broom ball.

I'm gunna have to say this place is a little bit of AWESOME! If you live here you already know it. If your travelin through jump off of 24 and come an enjoy the awesomeness this place has to offer. I've been coming here for many years and it never disappoints.....ever. Awesome food awesome staff, what else can ya ask for.

Found this little gem nestled outside of Woodland Park & Eleven Mile Canyon (which is where we camped). Their food was DELICIOUS as well as their garden fresh bloody Mary & tequlia sunrise. Only 4 stars bc I ordered the huevos rancheros with green Chile...not knowing that the Chile contained pork bc the menu did not state nor was I informed by the server. So that was really disappointing bc I had to send it back. Yes, my fault for not inquiring yet it would be most helpful to include a veggie green Chile option on the menu for the non-meat eaters (I know I'm not the only one!) :-) Our server Nicole was super awesome & attentive - ask for her & you won't be disappointed.

I gave The Pantry 5 stars not just for the food but because of everything all added up for me and for my family and friends I've gone there with. The food is very good. I've had burgers, I've had the heuvos rancheros and pancake breakfast, soups of the day and a few other items that are always very delicious and keep us coming back for more. Every time I eat here there are people who pull up and just come to buy a loaf of their cinnamon raisin bread. It is a small little local place- nothing fancy at all. Mismatched coffee mugs like you would have at your grandma's house, the waitstaff are all really down to earth and sweet. I see the owner come in every time I am there. He seems to really be dedicated to this place. It is a great place to eat in the summertime so you can sit outside and enjoy the view and fresh air. So overall, my thought on this place is- the food isn't gourmet or out of this world, it is very good and just like home cookin and the overall feel of the place is like a mom & pops type of kitchen. We love it!

Good googly moogly. Let me just start off with this. I am not sure I can make a stronger proclamation towards the strength and awesome-ness of the freshly baked oooey-gooey warm whole ingrediented cinnamon rolls except to relay the statement from my 13 year old son Ethan. First off - a tad bit of background. Ethan loves pizza. I use loves only because I can not come up with a stronger word or emotion than love to convey his affinity for pizza. If allowed, he would eat pizza three meals per day seven days per week. He doesn't care if its Domino's (crappy), DiGornio (frozen and crappy) or the best pizza he's ever eaten (a tie between an unnamed joint in New York City and PizzAlley located in his hometown of St. Augustine). This is not an exaggeration. The written form and my lackluster methods of alliteration are like one star in the entire galaxy compared to how much this kid loves pizza. Got it? Ayite! Sooo, that being said, Ethan strongly and hours later adamantly believes the cinnamon rolls at The Pantry are better than pizza. That is like a gazillion star rating right there. Everything said by all of the other five-star raters holds true. The Eggs Benedict were amazing. Easy to taste the real butter and whole natural ingredients. The kids both ate the cinnamon-roll french toast creation which was uber-deliciouso but c'mon, those cinnamon rolls are like a little piece of heaven dropped out of the sky and landed on your plate. We may need to start a support group for those of us who are clearly addicted to them! Hi - my name's Matt and I'm a Pantry Cinnamon Bun Addict (hi Matt)!!!!! Forty-thousand gazillion stars!

Love the cinnamon roles!

The BEST breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant I've ever been to! Everything is homemade and tastes phenomenal! Their signature cinnamon-raisin bread is a must try in all its forms - toast, french toast, cinnamon roll, and even bread pudding. Omeletes are large and filling and they even have a pancake bigger than the plate (free if you eat it all) and the portion sizes are hearty to say the least. In my opinion, they also have the best chicken fried steak of any place I've been to. The restaurant is located in a small-than-Mayberry town called Green Mountain Falls - you have to be looking for your exit on 24 or you'll miss it - between the Colorado Springs/Manitou Springs area and Woodland Park. It's very unassuming from the outside and even the interior gives off a small town diner feel, and the food is small town homestyle good! This is a must try if you're in the area. It's a shame that there aren't more hidden gems like the Pantry around and that these local eateries are so hard to find.

The pantry is always a nice place to stop for a great breakfast or lunch. On a nice day, it is sometimes a waiting list to get one of thier outside tables but if you can grab one, it's nice to enjoy the weather and always fun to watch the people over by the lake and gazebo. Every item that I have ever ordered from the menu has been a hearty portion that tasted great in a fun small town diner environment. I hope you enjoy a waitress saying things like "What'll you have hun?" I know I do. Service is normally excellent but occasionaly depending on the day and server (especially a nice day very early or late in the season when they might get swamped unexpectidly) the wait time before you get your order in or a drink refill can be a while, but even if you hit a bad day the wait for the great homestyle food is worth it, besides you just have to relax and pass the time enjoying the small town atmoshere. While the pantry has an old time diner feel, the prices are modern, so expect to pay about $9 for one of thier hearty breakfast or lunch entries. While I haven't had a chance to try it yet, I noticed they started serving an "all you can eat breakfast bar" on the weekends on the Creekside Patio (you can still sit up front and order of the regular menu as well). And they also serve dinner a few nights a week during the summer with some live entertainment on the Patio Creekside as well.

Alright folks. This is the real deal. First of all, The Pantry is in a beautiful little mountain town, complete with snowy slopes, a frozen lake, and gazebo. Secondly, it is quite literally a hole in the wall. Like, the definition of a hole in the wall. Third, I had french toast made of a CINNAMON ROLL. I could end my review right here. It was totally delicious. The potatoes were amazing, too. My friend had eggs benedict, by which she judges all breakfast places, and she said it's the best she's ever had. Really, just a delightful dining experience.

This place is great. We come down for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb every year, and I always look forward to breakfast at the Pantry. Their green chili is amazing. Also on Saturdays they do an all you can eat brunch out back by the creek. This year was the first time we had done the all you can eat thing, and it is definitely something we will be doing again in the future. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Todd F.
First of all, if you go to the Pantry and you don't try the bread pudding, you are SERIOUSLY missing out. Secondly, you absolutely MUST try the green chili in a bowl... The peppery chili is possibly the best in Colorado Springs, and I mean that literally. OMG the French Toast, the Raisin Bread, and the CINNAMON ROLLS! One word: heavenly. The waitstaff is super-friendly and the owner (didn't catch his name) seemed VERY cool. Last piece of advice on the Pantry... The Bloody Mary is done right! Nowhere else in Colorado can get the Bloody Mary right... Trust me on this - order one.
(5)Sibby S.
Update: Returned for dinner. Not as good as breakfast, but retaining my overall 4-star rating. For dinner, ate on the back patio, that was absolutely wonderful. Live music was playing during visit. Very relaxing! Had a waitress who had just been hired that night. Wonderful and personable service. The dinner menu is mostly western-style BBQ with traditional BBQ sidedishes. I ordered a BBQ chicken breast, that was something I could have made much better and more interesting at home. Meat was bland, and BBQ sauce, though homemade, was on par with the bottled stuff you get from the grocery store. (For BBQ, Front Range down in Old Colorado City is many times better!). With that said, the food was ok, and edible on all, but the ambiance and service of this place is what has won me over. Going forward, I think this will be more of a breakfast destination than a dinner option.

Insanely good breakfast at this cozy joint in Green Mountain Falls. Service is a bit pokey, but most folks here are not keeping a tight schedule. The star performer on the menu is the cinnamon raisin bread, which they bake in house. Make sure that someone at your table samples this treat. They offer a buttered toast version, and a french toast version. Seriously, do not miss this bread.
(4)D K.
Great place to have breakfast. They are always packed. They are slightly understaffed on waitresses, but the waitresses are very friendly and really do a good job for being understaffed. All the food was wonderful. It is a little hard to find, and a little hard to find parking, but park near the pond and start walking around, you will find it. I had their french toast cinamon roll with eggs and country potatoes. It is their specialty, and it was great!
(5)Sach Bob C.
I've coined the Pantry as The Snake Pit West (Snake Pit East is in Buffalo). I've been hearing from a friend of mine about how great the Pantry is for breakfast and I have to say I was not disappointed. The hash browns with green peppers, onions, jalapenos with jack cheese were awesome. Have those with some Eggs, bacon, fresh baked cinnamon raisin bread and some laughs. Our Effin troubles are over dude!!!
(4)Chris G.
I've been here a number of times. I hate to say that the last time I got breakfast here, the cinnamon raisin toast tasted freezer burned. This was extremely disheartening because I used to come just for this bread. Overall, I just felt the quality was very low and the kitchen help looked like they hadn't bathed in days.
(2)Lindsey G.
I grew up in GMF and have been coming to The Pantry since I was 6 years old. Never have I had a bad experience!!! Went there recently with my mom and dad - I usually get pancakes with scrambled eggs on the side, but I decided to switch it up and get the Baby Doe Benedict - with avocados and bacon. YUM!! Delicious!! I also had a piece of their cinnamon raisin toast - no matter what you get for breakfast - make sure you order a side of the cinnamon raisin toast. Absolutely delicious!!!!!!
(5)E L.
The Pantry is awesome. The portions are ridiculously huge (I highly recommend after a nice long hike up Catamount) and every bite is greasy delicious. Each of us got something different. I had an omelette and ordered a "side" pancake which was enormous. Others at my table had: huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy, and the cinnamon roll french toast. Each one of us was delighted with our choices. Definitely a situation in which I wished my stomach would stretch just a bit more because I really didn't want to stop eating my eggs and hashbrowns and pancake. We did have a wait on a Saturday morning at 9:30. Probably 15-20 minutes. The great thing was that my pregnant sister was sweating her ass off and they made sure to seat us in the shade. Sweet service all around. One thing: DO NOT DRINK THE COFFEE HERE. Just don't order it. Other than that, I love the place.
(5)Eric L.
Outside brunch surrounded by a pond and mountains in the spring: pretty good living to me. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients in my breakfast burrito. The eggs were fresh, light, and fluffy. This is solid, basic American breakfast done with fresh ingredients. Not heavy and really not too greasy for brunch food. My favorite breakfast in the Colorado Springs area.
(5)Eric F.
Love this place. Awesome looking town driving in. Waitress was wonderful. Had 4 kids under age 7 and she was on it. Food was wonderful and well priced. Cinnamon French toast was great. Kids loved their pancakes(strawberry topping). The atmosphere was awesome. A must go to place.
(5)Suzanne B.
You want to know how to get on my good side? Call me 'Hon'. Call me 'Sweetheart'. Call me 'Sweetie'. ...but only if you're the sassy waitress carrying over a refill pot to fill my cup with more perfectly dark diner coffee. The Pantry is one of those dying breed diners: hometown owned and operated, with basic but filling food, a crisp green and white decor and killer coffee. They even have a counter right as you walk in with vinyl-topped chrome stools and an aging Formica surface at which you can sit and watch the mostly-local crowd interact with the owners. The Pantry is a true gem. Oh, and I think the waitress called me that, too.
(4)Howard P.
We decided to take the Harley down to Green Mountain Falls for breakfast. The cinnamon roll French toast is crazy good. Who thought to take a great cinnamon roll, split it in half, drench it in egg and fry it. Excellent. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and loved every bite (except for the one I had). We also had a side of bread pudding, made with their fresh baked raisin bread. The service was very friendly and pretty fast as well. The ride to Green Mountain Falls was as rewarding as the meal. We will be back for sure.
(5)Elissa H.
The Pantry is my second favorite breakfast place in town (next to the Hungry Bear). Oh how I miss living up Ute Pass where one can get a good breakfast! Pantry pancakes rock! They are a huge, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Their cinnamon rolls are huge and gooey. Their biscuits and gravy...yummy! I am not a B&G girl, but I tried them for the first time in my life at the Pantry and was ruined for all other B&Gs. I hope they do dinners again this summer...the food (basic steak, potato, salad kinda menu) is fairly decent but shines when enhanced by the rustic open-air atmosphere of their creekside stone patio donned with rickety old tables and candles...reminds me of a place I dined in the Greek Islands. Nothing fancy here for breakfast or dinner, but a satisfying and homey dining experience day and night. Pros: Lovely rustic patio on the creek (romantic in the candlelight). tasty food at a good price. Cons: PPP (Post Pantry "sensation" which requires immediate action). The breakfast grease can take its toll on your belly. It's worth it, though.
(5)Lynn L.
I love the Pantry! It's true that I can't help but stop there on my way back to Denver from Woodland Park. My car exits the 24 on its own accord, I swear. As Suzanne mentioned, it's one of a dying breed. You step in here, and it's like you entered a time machine. Trust me though, it's in a good way. If you sit at the counter, you can peruse all of the postcards and thank yous from people around the world while you wait for your meal. And what a meal it will be. Sweet or savory, everything I've had is pure quality. It's just totally delicious in that made-with-love sort of way. All of the staff are wonderful and willing to chat you up about whatever you like. The only downside? This place is popular, so there's often a wait.
(4)Jaime F.
if you have 1 wish for breakfast in life, eat their cinnamon roll french toast. It's probably the best breakfast plate I've ever had.
(5)Mary W.
We always enjoy the Pantry. The food is down-home, artery-clogging diner fare. Okay, the tables might be a tiny bit sticky and the decor is strictly kitsch. But the servers are friendly (Fawn especially - she calls everyone "hon"), service is fast and the food is always good. In the summer this place is clogged with tourists. As locals, we like going on a snowy mid-winter morning and having the yummy coffee mixed with hot chocolate, whipped cream on top... and a giant pancake. Can't beat it with a stick.
(4)Jim K.
What a great breakfast getaway! Nestled up in the mountains in Green Mountain Falls (about 8 miles west of Colorado Springs, on Hwy 24 toward Woodland Park), this cozy little "old-timey" diner/restaurant provides all the charm, hot coffee and wonderful food you could ask for. The first time I ate there with a friend, the locals were there, plus many "Springs" pilgrims, and even the local constable and deputy came in and it reminded me of a sort of "Mayberry RFD" setting.....highly recommend but bring your appetite!
(4)RW G.
I Miss this place and talk about it often. No place like it in California. I miss standing outside with coffee waiting for my cinnamon bread french toast at 7 am with a cranky wife(that I woke up to drive up from Colorado Springs) with me for breakfast - and it's all of 12'F outside. LOVE IT! Think I will base a vacation stop around this gem.
(4)Jerry J.
Always a favorite place to take family, friends. Friendly staff, home-cooking (and extra large servings). Local, small mountain atmosphere. Near the lake. Great breakfast place. Always a favorite!
(4)McCall T.
Love this place!! Every time I come home I have to make this a stop! Biscuits & Gravy baby.
(5)emily o.
i love the pantry! i've been going here for years and am always pleased with the food, the service and the general experience. the biscuits and gravy are a must have and the vast array of eggs benedict options are lots of fun...if you're in the area, you've got to try it out!
(5)Todd F.
Good food, friendly and prompt service. Decent decor and setting (I would have preferred the outdoor seating, but we couldn't)
(4)Juan G.
(3)Doug P.
(5)Wil K.

(5)Terry W.
Enjoy.
(4)Kara Z.

(3)Matt L.
The food was great I've eaten here before, and wanted to go back. We went on a Saturday morning the place was busy but not overly crowded so we were fortunate to get seated right away. 1 1/2 hrs later when our food finally came out it was great there's no excuses for food taking that long and I'm not exaggerating on the time It was tolerable because of the beautiful setting in the mountains we did enjoy the food and the staff was friendly ,
(4)Denise B.
(5)Karlene H.
(2)Michelle L.
(5)Bryan M.
(1)Shack R.
(1)Robin W.
(5)Debi A.
(4)Gary M.

Tasty breakfast and convenient location for local hiking trails. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Service was friendly. Food was reasonably priced.

(4)Todd F.
Good food, friendly and prompt service. Decent decor and setting (I would have preferred the outdoor seating, but we couldn't)

(4)Tommy N.
(5)Joe T.
(4)Lauren H.
(4)Jennifer M.

(4)Craig L.

Love the cinnamon roles!

Always a favorite place to take family, friends. Friendly staff, home-cooking (and extra large servings). Local, small mountain atmosphere. Near the lake. Great breakfast place. Always a favorite!

(4)Craig L.

(5)Doug P.
(5)Terry W.

What a gem!

Tasty breakfast and convenient location for local hiking trails. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Service was friendly. Food was reasonably priced.
